Heavy walls blocked the light, the transition between rooms felt awkward, and the garden felt like it existed in a different zip code rather than just outside the window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The family didn&#8217;t want to live in a series of detached, formal salons.
